HOD Message

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College Kotla (Jeori) Rampur, Shimla Camp at Jawaharlal Nehru Govt. Engineering College (JNGEC) Sundernagar, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. It is my pleasure to introduce the department profile. The Department began its journey from the year 2015 at its mentor Institute (JNGEC) and in the short span, it has produced sound competence in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

The department offers undergraduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering which is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty & staff members who are always interested to guide/motivate students for their studies. The goal of department is to prepare students for successful career in academics, research and industry to meet the need of today’s world. We provide opportunity for students to work as members of a team on multidisciplinary projects. Mechanical engineering department enriches students with sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for higher studies as well as research. We promote student awareness for life-long learning and introduce them to professional ethics and codes.

The department encourages undergraduates to participate in seminars/workshops/conferences and other technical, sports, cultural and co-curricular activities inside/outside the campus. The students are also encouraged to undergo training/projects in industries and institutes of National reputes. The department organizes expert talk, recreational cum industrial visits for the students.
