Greetings and Heartiest welcome you all, to Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College (MGGEC) Kotla (Jeori), Tehsil Rampur Bushahr, District- Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. MGGEC Kotla (Jeori) is the fourth Government Engineering College of Himachal Pradesh state established in the year 2015. The foundation stone of the college was laid down on 15th November 2015, at Kotla (Jeori), Teh.-Rampur, District- Shimla (HP). It is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur (H.P.) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college is offering two B. Tech. Programmes in branches, viz., Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with a sanctioned strength of 60 students in each branch.  At present, first & second-year classes are running at its permanent location at Kotla (Jeori) Teh.-Rampur, District-Shimla (HP) and third & final year classes are running at Off-Campus of H.P. Technical University Hamirpur, at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College (JNGEC) Sundernager, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

MGGEC Kotla (Jeori) provides quality technical education to students enabling them to develop into qualified professionals with high ethical standards and environmentally responsible engineering practices. The institute provides an excellent academic environment augmented by good facilities for the students. It offers opportunities for the students to participate in sports, academics, cultural activities and extracurricular activities. Besides the regular teaching-learning process; expert talks, workshops, visits, webinars, and short-term training programs are also organized for the overall development of the students. NSS Unit is operational in the institute which provides a platform for Engineering students to work in society and to contribute their skills to the social cause.

The construction work of the Administrative Block & Academic Blocks; Mechanical Engineering Block, Civil Engineering Block & Lecture Theatre Block at Kotla (Jeori) started in October 2017 by the Executing Agency HPPWD (B&R) Rampur. The construction work of the administrative block is completed and work of the Lecture Theatre Block, Mechanical Engineering Block & Civil Engineering Block is likely to be completed soon. The construction of three more Academic Blocks; Workshop Block, Applied Sciences Block and Library & Amenities Computer Centre Block with pre-fabricated technique was started in August 2022 by Ropeway and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation (RTDC), Shimla, HP and work is to be completed at the end of this year.
